These highly configurable systems alert motorists to pedestrians in a crosswalk, to STOP signs, sharp curves, and other changes in the roadway ahead. LED border-enhanced signs help to increase vehicle compliance. Choose from a pedestrian push button, passive bollards sensor, radar, or sensor activation methods. System options include AC, solar power, and solar.

Pedestrian-Activated LED Warning Sign Systems

Placed at both sides of the crosswalk, pedestrians activate the system via push button or passively using LightGuard's automatic detection IR bollard sensors. An (optional) audible warning tone is available—alerting pedestrians that the system is active. A push-button with embedded LED lights can also be used as an adjunct activation method to bollard sensors and helps to ensure that the pedestrian follows safe crossing behavior.

Vehicle-Activated (Radar) LED Warning & Regulatory Sign Systems

ActiveWarning™ Radar Activated Chevron Warning Signs

ActiveWarning sign systems utilize radar to detect and alert approaching vehicles. Once activated, the amber LED border-enhanced signs blink at the Enlighten1 rate, capturing motorist attention. The typical vehicle detection range is 1500 feet and is adjustable based on expected daily activation.

Highly versatile, the system is helpful for applications such as:

  • exceeding the posted speed limit
  • change in road conditions ahead
  • warning of sharp turns ahead
  • warning of a school or hospital ahead
  • emergency vehicle exits
  • roundabouts

ActiveStop™ Radar Activated Regulatory STOP Signs

ActiveStop is a prime example of the versatile utility of our sign systems. This on-demand, visually vivid sign is enhanced with 24 high-intensity red LED lights and alerts the motorist to stop.

This radar-based system activates when it detects an approaching vehicle at a predetermined distance.  ActiveStop is ideal for locations where overhead traffic control devices are not warranted due to site locations or financial constraints.

ActiveStop systems operate on DC, drawing minimal amperage with low power demands. Depending on location, they can be powered with either AC or solar energy.

LightGuard Systems' radar-activated vehicle detection and alerting systems can be customized for site-specific applications with in-roadway warning lights, overhead beacons, and/or other signaling devices.
